The Pavilion, Chapel Hill, NC
In order to reinvigorate a depleted West Franklin Street streetscape, The Pavilion was planned and designed as a traditional downtown commercial building with a retail level below two stories of offices. Design attention was paid to elements and details that provide the building with a presence on the busy thoroughfare. Additionally, the scale and vernacular of existing downtown buildings was studied in order to break up the massing of the building, and to enhance the pedestrian experience of the project.
